So it happened.
I quit my job to travel and learn. I wanted to get out there, learn from the best, be inspired, find out what my purpose it. And then come back and live my full potential.
I never planned it this way. All I really wanted was a 6 week sabbatical from work learn my trade, to live in New York, to travel the world, covering my own expenses. I didn't ask to be paid, just to have an extended holiday. I requested this 6 months ago, but HR ignored my request despite my trying to chase this up, so I saved up the whole 6 months, and handed in my resignation January. I got a counter offer, but it was too late, and I'm pretty determined once I've decided to do something.
Now I'm fired up to really, really make this experience count.
Thought I'd share something an excerpt of a post that I found really motivating as well:
"Don't be afraid that something happens to you. Be afraid that nothing happens to you. Nothing noteworthy or exciting or breathtaking. I'm more afraid of a life where nothing extraordinary ever happens. I am more afraid of putting my dreams on a shelf and later realizing that I am too jaded or too tired to live them."
